Shocking News: MDCAT increased the entrance test fees by 33%

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced a 33% hike in entrance test fees for MBBS and BDS programs.

The fee for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) has gone up from Rs6,000 to Rs8,000.

This year, over 200,000 candidates nationwide are expected to sit for the MDCAT. With the new fees, PMDC expects to collect over Rs1.6 billion from registrations. International students will pay Rs40,000 to register for the test.

Controversy Arises Over Grace Marks At MDCAT

Registration for the MDCAT starts today, with the exam scheduled for September 22 across Pakistan, including in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The fee hike has sparked mixed reactions among students and parents, with some concerned about the added financial burden. PMDC officials say the fee increase is needed to cover the rising costs of administering the test and maintaining its quality and integrity.
