Introduced in 2008, the Benazir Kafaalat Program is Pakistan’s largest cash transfer initiative. It was created to provide financial support to vulnerable households, addressing both immediate challenges and long-term development goals.

The program helps protect low-income families from the impacts of rising inflation, increasing food prices, and slow economic growth. Over time, it aims to reduce extreme poverty and empower women, aligning with Pakistan’s efforts to meet the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
