How To Recognized University Degree in UAE
If you graduated from a university abroad, you will be pleased to know that the United Arab Emirates (MoE) Ministry of Education recently announced that a certificate of equivalence is no longer required. All degrees issued by foreign universities can now easily be authenticated and recognized online.
The Ministry of Education has launched a new service for the recognition of higher education degrees issued abroad. The “Recognition of Degrees Awarded Outside the UAE” service is available on the Ministry’s official website, moe.gov.ae.
Universities also recognize distance or online degrees.
Required Documents
Before proceeding to the next step, you will need clear digital copies of the following documents:
- Passport.
- Education Qualifications (Degrees).
- All work experience certificates, professional licenses, and all other documents are required for your application.
Please note that these documents must be in a high-quality and legible format.
Get A Certificate Of Authenticity
After gathering all the necessary documents, request a certificate of authenticity.
Use one of the two authorized services:
Step By Step Procedure:
- Create an account with your email address on either website.
- Upload your documents.
- Pay for verification of credentials.
The verification can take a week or more depending on the country issuing the title. After verification, you will receive an update via email and on your online profile. Verification costs vary depending on the origin of your title and the processing authorities.
Recognition Of Titles in The Ministry of Education
Make sure you have your letter of authenticity ready.
Visit the MoE Website:
- Visit: moe.gov.ae.
- Click the Connection icon in the top left.
Log In:
- Use the UAE Passport to log in.
- Review and confirm your personal information related to the UAE Passport.
Find The Service:
- Search for “Recognition of academic certificates issued outside the UAE” on the home page.
- Click the green Start Service button.
Answer The Key Question:
- Confirm whether you have the letter of authenticity (yes or no).
- If the answer is yes, please proceed with the application.
Provision Of Personal Data:
- Please provide your status: Resident, Visitor, or Non-UAE.
- Verify your name, Emirates ID, Nationality, Phone number, and email address.
Information On The Input Certificate:
Indicate where you studied, the specialization, the level of study, and the title of the certificate.
Receive Comments From The MoE:
- The Department of Education will classify them by academic rank, type of title, and specialization.
- The system will then prompt you to which documents to download.
More Details:
Indicate the start and end year of studies, the study modality and the language of the certificate.
Last Steps:
- Upload the required documents.
- Check your application.
- Pay online with a credit or debit card.
Follow up:
You will receive a transaction number to track your request.

Time Of Processing
The process takes three business days. After review by the Department of Education, you will be notified by email of the final decision on your application, whether approved or rejected.
