The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched a new service that allows you to open a bank account from the comfort of your own home. Even if you don’t have a working internet connection, you can still achieve this. With SBP’s new Asaan mobile account service, you can now open a bank account by texting *2262#.
How To Open a Bank Account Step By Step Process
The mentioned-below detail lists each of the necessary steps. If you send an SMS to the code above, you can register, choose a bank, add your CNIC ID Card details and give you a PIN for your account.

- Register Yourself
- Select the bank of choice
- Enter CNIC ID Card details
- Generate/Validate your PIN
This shows that any bank can use the facility to open an account and not just the State Bank of Pakistan.
Salman Sufi Statement About Opening A Bank Account
Salman Sufi, head of the prime minister’s strategic reforms department, shared the information in a tweet. He explained:
TRANSGENDER WOMEN AND CITIZENS SHOULD HAVE EASIER ACCESS TO THE FINANCIAL SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY THOSE WITHOUT MOBILE DATA. EVERYONE. NOT JUST SOME.
Although it says it must accommodate “women and transgender citizens,” it’s important to note that the facility is open to all.
However, the Government representative clarified that special attention is paid to women, as they often face difficulties in opening bank accounts.
