How To Get German Citizenship So Easily?
Getting German citizenship will be much easier. The federal government is considering relaxing dual state law. Millions of people who live in Germany without citizenship should benefit from this decision.
These are the changes the federal government is currently considering.
Fast Citizenship
People who have lived in Germany for more than 5 years can apply for citizenship. Meeting certain requirements may reduce this limit to 3 years.
Currently, only people who have lived in Germany for more than 8 years can apply for citizenship.
Dual Citizenship
After acquiring German citizenship, people can retain dual citizenship. Dual nationality is currently permitted in certain cases. For example, people belonging to European Union (EU) member countries can currently retain dual nationality.
Benefits For Seniors
Persons aged 66 and over do not have to take any German language or naturalization tests.
There are currently 11 million people living in Germany without citizenship. Put simply: 1 in 8 people does not have German citizenship.
The federal government wants to integrate people who live and work in Germany into the mainstream. After all, these people will be entitled to vote after acquiring German citizenship.
