Pakistan Elections 2024: A Guide to Casting Your Vote

As many individuals will be casting their first vote, it’s essential to understand the process. Below, we provide a step-by-step guide on how to cast your vote in Pakistan general elections.

  1. Locate Your Constituency

Text your National Identity Card (NIC) number to 8300. You’ll receive details such as your national and provincial assembly constituency number, polling station, family number, and serial number. You can also check your 8300 Vote Online Free in Pakistan.

  2. Required Documents

Bring your original CNIC for voting. Even individuals with expired CNICs can still cast their vote. However, other documents such as a copy of the CNIC will not suffice.

  3. Cellphone Policy

Remember, mobile phones are prohibited inside polling stations. It’s advisable to leave them at home.

  4. Voting Hours

Polling will commence at 8:00 am and conclude at 5:00 pm.

  5. Queue and Verification Process

Wait in line for your turn. The Presiding Officer (PO) will verify your name and electoral number. Once verified, you’ll receive two ballot papers—one for the provincial and one for the national assembly. The PO will also mark your name off the list.

  6. Sign and Stamp

Ensure the PO signs and stamps the back of both ballot papers. Your vote won’t be valid without these marks.

  7. Ballot Papers

You’ll receive separate ballot papers for the provincial and national assemblies—white for provincial and green for national. The PO will use special ink to record your thumb impression on the electoral rolls.

  8. Proceed to Voting Booths

Place each ballot paper in the corresponding box—green-topped for national and white-topped for provincial assembly votes.

  9. No Interference

Ensure no one influences your vote while you’re in the voting booth.

  10. Ensure Dry Ink

Once stamped, fold the ballot papers. Let the ink dry before folding them lengthwise to prevent smudging.

  11. Cast Your Vote

Finally, insert the green ballot paper into the box with the green top and the white ballot paper into the box with the white top to complete the voting process.
