Why The Former SNL Star Horatio Sanz Charge With Allegedly Assaulted a 17-Year Old Fan At Party?
Comedian and former Saturday Night Live star Horatio Sanz is the latest to be charged with sexual assault by a woman who was underage at the time of the incident.
The unidentified woman filed a sexual assault and personal hygiene complaint with the Manhattan Supreme Court in the 2000s. At that time, she was 17 and Sanz allowed her to drink, which also affected her and asked her to send him indecent photos of herself.
Sanz, who appeared on the Showtime drama “Black Monday” through 2020, faces the heat just days after New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo resigned over similar allegations. Another big name currently in trouble is Prince Andrew, who has been accused of assault by Virginia Roberts.
In early August 2021, Roberts filed a lawsuit specifically to name the Royal Family, which could cause further hardship for the struggling Royal Family.
Like Roberts, von Sanz’s attorney was a minor at the time of the incidents. She brings several damning accusations against the actor, which he denies.
However, the case is now on trial and will likely give us the opportunity to learn the whole truth. The victim was identified only as Jane Doe, a Pennsylvania resident who ran an SNL fan site in 2002.
The woman’s allegations date back to 2000, when she met Sanz on a tape. She was only 15 at the time.
In 2001, Sanz invited the complainant to various parties after the show where he allegedly allowed her to drink, touched her inappropriately and told her to “sit on her lap”.
Then, in August, he started communicating with her through AOL Messenger. “The accused Sanz continued his preparatory process in this and other communication,” the trial said.
The complainant says Sanz began to disclose inside information about the hosts and guests he would post on his website. Sanz also “chaired the conversations to talk about sex, sexual experiences, sexual activity, sexual fantasies, masturbation” and asked the girl to share explicit photos of herself.
