How Gaming is Helping Generation Z Get Their First Job in The UAE
Recent research has found that the game is helping Generation Z in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) land their first job by equipping them with the skills they need to work in the corporate world.
According to a YouTube study commissioned by Censuswide, 80% of recruiters in the UAE prefer gamers and those who can talk about the skills they have acquired through gaming.
Almost 63% of Gen Z gamers confirmed that the game gave them the confidence to face the challenges of the corporate world. 40% said they mentioned it on their CV or during an interview.
Censuswide also asked employers to identify the top skills they look for when hiring someone for an entry-level job.
Based on their responses, good communication was the most important skill cited by 54% of employers. Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure were also highly valued: 46% and 42% of employers respectively identified them as essential skills.
About 74% of gamers said that frequent online chats with other gamers improved their communication skills, a skill that is in high demand in the corporate world.
There are many big players in UAE such as Rima, ZayedGaming, Basharkk, and KhaliDasECO. They have over 10 million subscribers combined and over 2 billion views on YouTube.
Rima Alosta recently remarked that creating content has helped her become more confident, authentic, and less shy. She added that YouTube took her out of her comfort zone.
