In a significant move aimed at enhancing the management of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and to achieve greater operational efficiency while reducing losses and improving customer services, Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has given his approval for the division of PESCO.
The newly formed Hazara Electric Company (HAZECO) will comprise two distinct Circles, Hazara-I and Hazara-II, with its headquarters situated in Abbottabad. Abbottabad, a picturesque city nestled in the hills, is renowned for housing the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) where commission officers of the Pakistan Army undergo physical training.

The city holds historical significance, having been visited by Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Iqbal, in 1904.
