Govt Still Confuse About The Summer Vacations

The Punjab govt has yet to decide on the dates of the summer school breaks in the province. Earlier, the Minister of School Education, Murad Raas, said that the dates of the summer holidays would be declared in about fourteen days in the province.

The Punjab government had effectively changed the hours of all public and private schools from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. due to the sweltering weather. A meeting of the National Command and Operations Center had proposed that the Punjab government report on a summer getaway from July 18 to August 1.

Nonetheless, Murad Raas intended to declare a summer getaway from July 2 to August 2.

Members did not have the option of sneaking out in late spring and would address the issue at the next NCOC meeting.

Meanwhile, the president of the Pakistan Private Schools Federation (APPSF), Kashif Mirza, said it was difficult to make up for the loss of education of students for a year and a half by closing schools.

He said schools would stay open somewhere between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. and that students were allowed to attend schools in casual dress rather than uniform.

He said the choice was made given the scandalous weather conditions and said institutes with offices can take courses online.
