Google Officially Registered in Pakistan As Company
American tech giant Google has registered as a company with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
The sources exclusively told news media that the SECP issued a registration certificate for Google under Section 435 of the Companies Act 2017.
According to news media, Google Asia Pacific Pte. Limited. has registered under the Companies Act 2017 to set up a liaison office in Pakistan.
According to the sources, after registering with the SECP, Google will be operating in Pakistan very soon. A Google delegation arriving in Pakistan next week will meet with the Pakistani authorities and discuss their activities in Pakistan.
Sources say the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT) has been in contact with international companies and trying to bring them to Pakistan, but the companies have been reluctant due to political instability.
However, there was a breakthrough in this regard when first Google and then Tik Tok agreed to open offices in Pakistan while the ministry’s talks with Facebook continue.
IT Ministry officials expect Google to open its office in Pakistan in the coming days. According to MoITT officials, Google has launched several initiatives in Pakistan in recent years.
