Google Donates 500k US Dollars To Flood Relief in Pakistan
Millions of Pakistanis are experiencing the worst rainfall and flooding in the country’s history. Catastrophic flooding added to the ongoing pandemic is wreaking havoc in the county. People have been left homeless and stranded in flooded areas.
During this time of the disaster, Google is donating 500k USD (PKR 108 million) through its philanthropy division to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy. This will be used for grants to local organizations actively involved in crisis response and management.
In addition, Google employees are also donating at this critical time. In just a few days, employees have given more than PKR 72 million in personal and corporate donations.
Google wants to extend its support by raising donations and funds for those affected by the floods to help Pakistani citizens amid the destruction. Google will continue to look for other ways to help flood victims.
