GB Govt Announces Thousands Of Teaching Jobs Over Next 6 Months
The Government of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) announced on Wednesday that it will hire 4,000 teachers over a period of six months to ensure there is no shortage of educators in the province’s public schools.
Chief Minister (CM) Khalid Khurshid chaired the inaugural session of the Education Reform Steering Committee.
The committee was set up to implement education reforms in the GB to ensure equal educational opportunities for girls and boys.
The committee also agreed to recall all “seconded” teachers employed or working in other departments and must return to their assigned positions as soon as possible.
Related to this, Raja Muhammad Azam Khan, the GB Minister for Education, said the priority would be to rebuild educational institutions in the province affected by natural disasters.
He announced this earlier this week in an interview with reporters during his official visit to various educational institutions in Hunza.
Minister Khan stressed that the focus is on completing the existing development projects within the Ministry of Education by the end of June this year.
He visited schools and interacted with school authorities and teachers.
Sometimes he vowed to solve teachers’ real problems first.
