FIFA Will Start A New World Cup in 2025
FIFA is ready to expand the 2025 Club World Cup into a ‘true World Cup’ with 32 teams.
The President Giano Infantino of FIFA has announced the reformulation of the Men’s FIFA Club World Cup into a mega event featuring 32 teams.
According to the information, the new men’s Club World Cup is to be held in 2025, in which 32 clubs will take part. Giano Infantino has predicted a similar change for the Women’s Club World Cup as well.
At the last Club World Cup, the respective league winners from the various regions competed against each other in several rounds to become world champions.
The current winners are Chelsea, who won the title in 2021, while the most successful team is Real Madrid with four titles.
The new format was introduced to provide more exciting football for fans and a more competitive environment for players, which can help increase FIFA’s revenue by billions.
In addition, the new system will transform the Club World Cup into a real World Cup, which will attract more interest from fans and players. However, the qualification procedure for the newly structured Club World Cup is still unclear.
