Federal Govt Will Introduce A New Mechanism For BISP Payments
Federal Minister Shazia Marri announced on Thursday that the federal government has decided to implement a new system to deposit beneficiaries of the Benazir income support program directly into their bank accounts.
Speaking to the media there, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Security and Chair of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Shazia Marri, announced that the government was introducing a new mechanism to help BISP beneficiaries avoid long queues the Avoid receiving funding Help.
“The new system will be rolled out as part of the pilot project,” he said, adding that if successful, the new mechanism will be rolled out nationwide.
He claimed that the new payment method would also allow recipients to save some of their money at banks. In response to a question, Shazia Marri said about 25 BISP mobile units would be set up in Balochistan to register the beneficiaries.
Benazir Income Support Scheme (BISPflood) aid funds would increase to Rs. 70 billion from the current Rs. 28 billion, according to an announcement by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif last year.
