The holy month of Ramadan is set to begin on 23rd March in the United Arab Emirates and the first fast will last more than 13 hours, according to prayer times released by the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Foundations.
UAE Confirmed Fasting Hours And Iftar Timings:
On the first day of Ramadan, UAE residents fast from 5:02 a.m. to 5:02 p.m. to 6:35 p.m. At the end of the month, the fasting periods are increased slightly to 14 hours and 16 minutes. The last fast in the UAE starts at 4:31 a.m. and ends at 18:47.
The duration of fasting on the first day of Ramadan last year was 13 hours and 48 minutes while fasting on the last day of the month was 14 hours and 33 minutes.
The beginning and end of the holy month, which can last 29 or 30 days, are determined by a committee observing the moon.

This year, the gift of shorter fasts is combined with the comfort of cooler temperatures as the holy month rolls through the United Arab Emirates at the start of spring.
This year the thermometer should read between 17 and 35 degrees in the first days of Ramadan, and towards the end of the holy month, the range will widen to 17 and 36 degrees.
