Everything You Need To Know About Prince Harry’s Story At Invictus Games
A major upcoming event is the upcoming return of the Invictus Games. This international multi-sport event has a rich history, thanks in part to the important participation of Prince Harry and the venue of the next edition.
The Invictus Games demonstrates resilience by using adaptive competitive sports to heal service members, veterans, and the injured or sick around the world.
Around 550 participants will take part in the games, which last around a week and include nine main sports as well as the possibility of additional activities, including e-sports. These games feature a variety of sports competitions including wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, swimming, wheelchair rugby, and indoor rowing.
21 countries, including Israel, Colombia, and Nigeria, are preparing to take part in the tournament in 2023. A highlight of this edition will be the presence of Rita Ora at the closing ceremony, which will add a musical touch to the competition fever.
The Invictus Games were founded by Prince Harry, who was inspired to launch the platform after competing in the US Warrior Games in 2013.
“I have seen firsthand how the power of sport can positively impact the lives of wounded and ill soldiers on their journey to recovery,” said Prince Harry. I believe it can have a lasting impact on the wellbeing of those who have courageously served their country and I am very proud that we are bringing this event to the UK for the first time.
The events of the Invictus Games 2023 in Düsseldorf will go down in history. On Saturday, September 9th, the event begins with an exciting opening ceremony in the Merkur Spiel-Arena. Sports fans can look forward to exciting action next week as the championship game is scheduled for Saturday, September 16th.
Around 500 participants from 21 countries, accompanied by their families and friends, will travel to Düsseldorf and the Bundeswehr to compete in ten disciplines.
The sixth edition of the event, following on from London 2014, Orlando 2016, Toronto 2017, Sydney 2018, and Netherlands 2022, adds to its significance.
