Evacuated Homes Delayed By Wildfires on I-80 Parlez Canyon
A wildfire broke out in Parlez Canyon near Park City on Saturday afternoon.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office recommends the evacuation of all residents of Summit Park, which has approximately 650 homes.
State wildfire officials say power lines are also at risk.
The fire started on the side of I-80 between 137 and 138, approximately seven miles west of the Park City exit.
The Utah Department of Transportation has notified drivers of major delays in the area.
The fire is spreading rapidly, but an estimate of the hectare has not yet been made. More than 10 tanker trucks and some helicopters respond to ground crews to assist with some control efforts.
