An AWESOME picture of a former high school hockey player Emmalynn Herbstritt and mentor who died in a horrific climbing accident has surfaced.
The Grand County Sheriff’s Office reports that 21-year-old Emmalynn Herbstritt died Saturday while canyoning at Morning Glory Arch in Moab, Utah.

On 11th June a photo of the canyoning guide smiling in what appeared to be a canyon was uploaded to her Facebook page.
“Heat + Nature + Adrenaline Activities = The BEST Summer!” She wrote as a caption.
According to the National Park Service, canyoning combines route finding, rappelling, problem-solving, swimming, and hiking.
At the scene, Emmalynn was found unresponsive and was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have not released any further information about the fatal clash.
Her peers viewed Emmalynn as a role model in their neighborhood and an excellent athlete.
The Utah High School Hockey Facebook page said Sunday that Emmalynn has a passion for hockey and the outdoors.
“Emmalynn is the daughter of Bryan and Misty Herbstritt, who have dedicated countless hours to Utah hockey as board members,” the statement continued.
“Misty is the current Vice President of Utah High School Hockey. Emmalynn was the older sister of Bentley and Salt Lake Stars senior Audrey.”
“Emmalynn will be sorely missed.”
