Eleanor Bowles Was Stabbed To Death On Saturday

Just a day after her body was discovered at a Buckhead residence, the 77-year-old’s friends and family are paying their respects.

Police suspect Eleanor Bowles encountered someone trying to steal her Lexus SUV on Saturday, after which she was fatally stabbed.

The investigation is still in its early stages, according to Atlanta police, but they have located his vehicle and want to speak to an interested person who was spotted near the truck.

The “good, precious, funny and loving mother, grandmother and friend” was preparing for the holiday season before she was killed, according to the person who organized an online fundraiser. Additionally, her son spotted her while visiting Bowles’ home over the holidays, according to authorities.

“My mother was the polar star of my world,” Michael Bowles, Eleanor’s son, told 11Alive.

She was a beautiful soul and taught me to approach the world with empathy.”

According to Michael, the experience of being reunited with his mother in the state she was in will never be forgotten, and what happened to her was “his biggest nightmare”. He admitted his trip home for the holidays was a bit late.

Michael said he was determined to go public with what happened to his mother and hoped everyone reading about it would come together to bring about change on the front of the senseless and violent acts.

“This is not a way for a family to spend their vacation — to mourn and mourn the death of a loved one,” Deputy Chief Charles Hampton Jr. said.

Her friends called her Ellen and she loved animals. The Humane Society of Atlanta, an organization dear to her heart, will receive proceeds from the charity.

They added that they hope to raise awareness of the need to reduce crime in Atlanta.

“It’s incredible that crimes like this continue to happen in Atlanta and it needs to stop,” the fundraising page reads.

“Send any donations you deem appropriate to honor his memory and raise awareness against horrific crimes like this in the future. Her family is on a mission to prosecute those responsibly and make sure Atlanta residents feel safe at home.”
