Eight Dead And Injured At Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ Concert
At least eight people were killed and much more seriously injured in the chaos during Travis Scott’s opening appearance at the Astroworld music event in Texas on Friday.
Dozens of people gathered at NRG Park in Houston when all of a sudden, the audience “started moving forward” as soon as the rapper took the stage around 9 pm.
Houston Fire Department Chief Samuel Peña held a conference on Saturday in which he told reporters: “People started to fall, pass out and that caused more panic.”

Peña also said that some 17 patients, including 11 in cardiac arrest, were transferred to a local hospital, while more than 300 were being treated at a field hospital near the site.
The fire marshal also said that among the large number of casualties that occurred on the opening night of the third annual festival, children “aged 10 and over” were injured.
