Eid-ul-Adha 2023 on 29th June, Thursday in Pakistan
In an official announcement today, the Ruet-e-Hilal Central Committee confirmed moon sightings for the Islamic month of Dhul-Hijjah. Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is celebrated in Pakistan on Thursday, June 29th.
The committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, met in Karachi to observe the Dhul-Hijjah crescent moon after sunset.
Eid-ul-Adha is an important religious festival celebrated by Muslims around the world. It commemorates the will of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah. In the end, Allah replaced the son with a sheep, symbolizing the importance of faith and submission.

The festival is marked by communal prayers, the slaughter of cattle, and the distribution of meat to the less fortunate. Muslims gather in mosques and open squares for Eid prayers, followed by parties and visits to friends and family.
