The federal government on Monday announced a 3 days Eid ul Adha 2021 holidays from July 20 to 22.
A summary of four public holidays was reportedly sent to Prime Minister Imran Khan, but he approved three public holidays. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s main watchdog for Covid-19 has taken countermeasures following the rise in infection in recent days.
Officials from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) said the forum warned and called on all provinces to ensure risky measures are implemented given the risk of the Delta variant spreading in South Asia.

Provinces have been given detailed instructions to strictly enforce standard operating procedures, officials said, saying special teams have been formed to implement standard operating procedures for social distancing and face masks.
Guidelines have been issued for livestock markets and Eid-ul-Adha meetings, he added.
In addition, the authorities have made vaccination against Covid compulsory for the masses. Unvaccinated citizens are not allowed to enter restaurants, hotels, gyms, and cinemas without presenting their vaccination certificates.

Travelers must also present a Covid vaccination card before boarding next month’s flights, while no hotel allows travelers without a Covid vaccination card.
NCOC has also placed emphasis on the implementation of guidelines in mosques and shopping malls and issued a checklist for district administrations in this regard.
On July 4, the NCOC made the Covid vaccination mandatory for animal sellers across the country, in addition to performing rapid antigen testing outside of cattle markets.
An official statement from the agency said all livestock markets outside of cities will be set up under strict standard operating procedures.
