Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated in Pakistan on Thursday, May 13th, announced by the Central Committee of Ruet-e-Hilal on Wednesday.
A committee meeting was held in Islamabad, chaired by President Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.

At a press conference, Azad said that testimonies had been received from shamans from Balochistan, Killa Saifullah and Pasni, Peshawar from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Mirpurkhas from Sindh, among others.
Azad wished everyone “Eid al-Fitr Mubarak” and urged people to observe the safety precautions during the Eid and play their role in slowing the spread of the coronavirus.
“It would be better if you put your hand on your chest when you greet people. Wear a mask, keep social distance, whether in the mosque or elsewhere,” he added.

He said that the zone committees in various cities would have done well to review the credentials before sending them to the central committee.
The President also strongly condemned Israel’s barbaric actions against Palestinians outside the Al-Aqsa Mosque, saying that Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Foreign Minister had spoken to Palestine on behalf of all Pakistanis in their messages of solidarity.

The President had expressed his determination to ensure that Eid is celebrated across Pakistan on the same day that he was appointed to the post, and today he said he prayed that the committee would stand firm in these efforts for years to come will stay.
