ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will celebrate the Eid al-Fitr 2021 holidays from May 10-15, the National Center for Command and Operations (NCOC) said on Thursday.
“Announcement of the Eid holiday from May 10-15, 2021, which clearly indicates the intention to reduce national mobility,” the NCOC statement said.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Interior Ministry announced new restrictions across the country, including a complete tourism ban from May 8-16.
Accordingly, the Ministry of the Interior has also issued a circular in this regard. According to the new measures announced by the government, transportation between cities and provinces is banned during the Eid al-Fitr 2021 holidays.
However, locals are allowed to travel, especially from Gilgit Baltistan (UK).
NCOC has decided to close all tourist attractions, public parks, hotels, and shopping malls during the Eid al-Fitr vacations.
Authorities have also decided to shut down public transport and only Gilgit-Baltistan citizens can visit their areas.
The press release said the NCOC had decided to continuously power the masses during the oath.
