E-Passports Nationwide With A New Schedule Of Fees
Following the successful rollout of ePassports in Islamabad, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has rolled out ePassports in all passport offices in Pakistan.
They were introduced in the federal capital last June and were initially limited to diplomatic and government staff. However, following the announcement by former Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, the facility was expanded to include general residents of Islamabad and later people from across the country.
Management took to Twitter last month to proudly report the successful printing and submission of the first passport applied for through the online application process.
Today the management released the official schedule of fees for these new ePassports. According to the new schedule:
Passport Type | Pages | Normal Fee (Rs) | Urgent Fee (Rs) |
5-Year E-Passport | 36 | 9000 | 15000 |
72-Page E-Passport | 72 | 16500 | 27000 |
10-Year E-Passport | 36 | 13500 | 22500 |
72-Page 10-Year E-Passport | 72 | 24750 | 40500 |
Please note that the fee structure for regular passports remains unchanged in the new tariff.
These new fees came into effect on August 16, signaling a transformation of passport services in Pakistan and marking a significant step towards the digitization of administrative procedures.
