Dubai Announces Sheikha Hind Family Program With 10-day Paid Marriage Leave

Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has launched a family-focused initiative named after her. The Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum Family Program will strengthen family bonds, uphold community values, and support a healthy balance between work and home life for Emirati families.

This initiative is as per the vision of Sheikh Mohammed’s vision for families as the foundation of a strong and united society. Speaking about the program, Sheikha Hind mentioned its commitment to empowering families, saying, “Strong families pave the way for a brighter future. Our goal is to create lasting happiness and stability, enabling future generations to thrive.”

The program aligns with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to double the number of Emirati households in Dubai by 2033 while fostering connected and content families.

In its first year, the program supported 344 weddings, accounting for 28.3% of all Emirati weddings in Dubai, leading to a 10.1% rise in Emirati weddings compared to the previous year. By easing wedding costs, giving financial assistance through the Esaad card, and providing free neighborhood venues, the program has significantly reduced financial challenges for young couples.
