Dubai Officially Announced Eid Al-Adha Holidays
The Government of Dubai has officially announced the Eid Al-Adha holiday for the public sector. This means that public sector employees have free time to celebrate these important occasions.
The festival begins on the 9th of Dhul Hijjah and lasts until the 12th of Dhul Hijjah. These dates are set by the government’s human resources department.
To identify holidays on the Gregorian calendar, officials look for the waxing moon on June 18. This moon sighting marks the beginning of a new Islamic month. According to calculations, Arafat Day is expected to fall on June 27th, followed by Eid on June 28th.
Given the regular Saturday-Sunday weekend, the holiday period is expected to last from Tuesday, June 27 through Friday, June 30, giving employees a six-day break, making it the longest holiday of the year in the industry.
Earlier, the Federal Agency for Government Personnel of the United Arab Emirates (FAHR) also announced Eid Al-Adha celebrations for federal ministries and agencies.
According to FAHR, the holiday will take place from the 9th to the 12th of Dhul Hijjah according to the Islamic Hijri calendar.
