Dubai Introduces New Building Permit System And Other Construction Services
Dubai has launched a new online system for building permit and monitoring services to incorporate the latest technology in the construction industry.
In line with Dubai’s updated building code, the system will improve customer experience, reduce time and costs, and improve service quality.
The system offers intelligent and integrated solutions and uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) for automated controls. This allows the system to process requests quickly and accurately.
Dawoud Al Hajri, CEO of Dubai Municipality, emphasized the city’s aim to further develop the construction industry by simplifying processes and providing digitized services.
Some of the initial services available in the new system include new building permits, site preparation, drilling, permanent fencing, self-decoration, self-maintenance, transaction cancellation, and approved card validity extensions.
It also offers other services such as license renewal, periodic inspections, night work permits, and changing consultants or contractors. The remaining services will be rolled out gradually over the course of the year.
Mariam Al Muhairi, acting executive director of the Dubai City Building Regulation and Permits Authority, said the system offers streamlined processes, reduces application documentation requirements, eases data entry and application tracking, and provides automated services.
