Dubai Increases Security Ahead Of Eid Al-Fitr Holidays

Dubai Police, along with other authorities, have made all necessary preparations to ensure a safe celebration of Eid Al-Fitr.

In a statement by state news agency WAM, Dubai Police announced a detailed plan to secure all mosques and major places of worship, deploy street patrols, and tighten security in key areas, tourist attractions, malls, and markets.

A total of 4,387 police officers, including 66 traffic constables, 798 private security forces, and 465 security patrols, are deployed to reinforce security measures.

There will also be 165 lifeguards on Dubai beaches, 14 maritime security boats, 123 ambulances, 738 paramedics, 10 lifeboats, 29 bicycle patrols, 75 civil defense vehicles, 24 small cranes, and 17 land rescue patrols.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Operational Affairs and head of Dubai Police Event Security Committee Maj Gen Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi said the command and control center would be available 24 hours a day in the event of an emergency.

He urged residents to call 901 for non-emergencies and 999 for emergencies or use the “Police Eye” through the Dubai Police app to report grievances.

Al Ghaithi also advised the public to drive carefully, obey speed limits and keep an eye out for children on beaches and other tourist attractions.

He ordered families not to let their children play with firecrackers during Eid as they can cause severe burns, injuries, and permanent disabilities, adding that they could also endanger the life and property of others.
