Dubai Announces A New Service To Detect Fake Real Estate Listings
The Dubai Land Department (DLD) together with its subsidiary Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) has launched a new smart service called Madmoun to detect fake real estate listings.
Beginning April 24, residents can verify the authenticity of real estate listings by scanning a QR code.
RERA also issued a notification to confirm the establishment of this service. Access is via DLD’s Trakheesi system, which issues a QR code for each property listing permit.
From April 24, all real estate companies will be required to embed QR codes in their print and broadcast ads so customers can verify their authenticity.
In addition to the QR code, residents have access to all listing information, including the property’s terms and conditions, on the DLD website.
According to Marwan bin Ghalita, CEO of RERA at DLD, Madmoun is in line with the organization’s goal of using technology to transform Dubai into a world leader in real estate investment.
He noted that the service will support the development of real estate products and is also in line with Dubai’s “D33” economic agenda, which hopes to create economic value through digital transformation and enhance Dubai’s position as the development hub of the “Economy Digital” to strengthen.
