Dubai Announced The Launch Of Food Delivery Robots
The Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (TEN) and Talabat, a food delivery service, are working with the Highways and Transport Authority (RTA) to launch food delivery robots called “Talabots”.
First, they will be tested at Cedre Villas in the Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) technology park.
Three of the robots will be introduced to serve residents of the gated community and move within a 2-mile radius of Cedar Mall. The robots will be able to deliver food in under 15 minutes.
The launch of Talabots demonstrates Dubai’s technological advancement. This initiative is expected to embrace the use of robots for food delivery as cities around the world explore the potential benefits of this new technology.
On the other hand, during the World Summit of Governments in 2023, the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, approved the design of new air taxi stations in Dubai.
He tweeted that air taxis will be operational in Dubai within three years, making it the first city in the world to have a fully developed network of vertiports, landing, and vertical launch centers.
