Dubai Announced Good News For Private Schools Ahead Of Ramadan
The Knowledge and Human Development Agency (KHDA) has announced distance learning courses for private schools on Fridays during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the details, private schools should be free to decide after consultation with parents whether to offer distance learning on Fridays.
The KHDA’s decision comes in line with recent orders from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which says about 70% of federal employees will work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan.
The same strategy is being adopted by other schools and universities in the country. The decision offers significant relief to both students and teachers who are fasting and need time to fulfill their religious obligations.
According to Ibrahim Al Jarwan, President of the Emirates Astronomical Center (EAS), Ramadan is expected to start on Thursday 23 March and last 29 days, while Eid-ul-Fitr will take place on Friday 21 April.
The Dubai Govt is Also Allowing Some Employees To Work Remotely
Earlier, the Dubai government also announced that some of its staff will be able to work remotely from public libraries from 16th March.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work said they will implement new tools and systems to manage this initiative. The minister stressed that the aim of this new policy is to improve the well-being of workers.
This remote library opportunity is only available to government employees in Dubai, but when asked about extending it to private sector employees, Al Olama clarified that he would not require private companies to do the same.
