Drew Cockton, a prominent Merseyside businessman who raised funds after appearing on the TV show Dragon’s Den, has died unexpectedly.
Wirral-based entrepreneur Cockton owned vegan fragrance brand Owen Drew and triumphed over Dragons’ Den last year after recovering a £50,000 investment in his business from ‘Dragon’ Touker Suleyman.

His mother Kate confirmed the news in a Facebook post today (Sunday), saying: “We are truly heartbroken to announce that our beloved Drew Peter George Cockton (my beautiful boy) passed away peacefully at home yesterday. Drew’s partner, Ryan Gunn, posted some photos to his Facebook page, with dozens of people offering their condolences and tributes in the thread below.
Drew rose to fame after receiving a massive investment from billionaire Mr. Suleyman in Dragons’ Den. The budding entrepreneur impressed the Dragons after detailing his previous mental health issues, explaining why they were the driving force behind starting his business and why the concept of well-being is so important to him.

The Dragons’ Den star explained how people “need to feel comfortable talking about their lives outside of work, without fear of judgment.”
