The mystery of the death of 23-year-old Dr. Sara Malik was solved after the suspect in the case admitted to killing the girl after raping her.
Sara Malik, a 23-year-old woman, disappeared from Seaview Beach in Karachi on Friday when authorities finally determined she may have taken her own life by jumping into the water.

Dr. Shan, the candidate in the Sara Malik case, admitted to killing Sara Malik after sexually assaulting her, police say.
According to police investigations, the girl told her father on the phone that Dr. Shan had raped her.
The victim girl’s father claimed in an FIR filed with the Sahil Police Station that his daughter was sexually assaulted by the owner of the veterinary facility and that she may have committed suicide due to stress.
“Sarah left home on Friday to perform her duties as a veterinarian at a private hospital,” she told FIR, adding that she was in a relationship with Defense Division veterinary clinic owner Karachis Nishat.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the body of a young woman found in Sea View early Saturday morning. The body of 23-year-old Sara Malik, who appeared to have drowned, washed ashore.
Sahil Police said the body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center. They said the woman lives in Mehmoodabad and works at a DHA clinic.
They also said a woman’s bag containing identification documents and other items was found at the scene. They added that the woman disappeared on Friday.
FIR No. 06/23 was registered under Section 365/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Southern District SSP Syed Asad Raza said police raided the hospital where the woman worked on Saturday night and Dr. Shan Saleem and a member of his team were arrested.
SSP Raza said a man named Jamal called the police, claiming he saw the woman jump into the sea, adding that police are still trying to determine if the man was telling the truth.
The officer said that according to the preliminary investigation, the owner of the clinic (a veterinarian) molested the woman, adding that the police also took tissue, hair, and contraceptive samples from Dr. Saleem took.
The SSP said the doctor claimed to have been in a relationship with the woman for the past two years, adding that Dr. Saleem had been charged with kidnapping and other charges.
The officer said when police checked the computers at the clinic, they found the doctor had erased the CCTV recording.
