Dexter Kelsey is a former student who shoots the principal of a Houston high school on campus. Kelsey allegedly entered the YES Prep Southwest secondary campus with a rifle and shot the principal in the back.
He is reportedly currently in custody after Houston police arrived at the scene around 11:45 a.m. local time.

The alleged assault on the 25-year-old only injured manager Eric Espinoza after he pushed his way through the establishment’s closed glass door.
After the shooting, Espinoza was taken to downtown Houston Medical Center for surgery. Although his condition is serious, it is likely that he will survive.
It was said that the police didn’t have to fight much when Kelsey, a former student of the school, surrendered. Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said he was happy to hear that no children were injured in the incident as “it could have been a lot worse” before adding: “I think ‘no child or person should see this The world we live in.”
A seventh-grade student, whose identity is unknown, said: “When I came out, I saw blood and glass shattering everywhere. My teachers told me to stay in the classroom where no one could see me, and the officers came and said, Put your hands up. Go outside.”
Why Dexter Kelsey Arrested?
Relatives and two sources confirm that 25-year-old Dexter Kelsey was the alleged shooter. The family said police called them on Friday to tell them Kelsey was in custody.
As per the police source, Kelsey confessed to the shooting and told police she heard voices and was not looking for the director but another employee.
What Police Have Investigated Up Till Now?
The Houston Police Department released a statement that read, “A suspect is in custody. Officers are currently looking for other possible suspects in the school. The scene is still active: “Yes, the Southwest Secondary School Prep also released a statement that said,” FAMILY ATTENTION: Police are on campus with a suspect who opened fire on the school. No student was injured.”
“The students were transported to W. Fuqua and Hiram Clarke, where they can be picked up. Please don’t go to school; The Houston Police Department is blocking the streets. We are collecting information and will pass it on as soon as possible.”
In a press release, the school added: “We cannot imagine the terror he must have felt as the events unfolded. [Friday’s] shocking incident should not be experienced or overcome by a student, parent or educator alone. We have counselors ready to help anyone who needs help during the weekend, the following week and throughout the school year.”
