Wednesday, a man from Texas by his name David Wilson a police officer was acquitted of the murder of a man who was checking a security alarm in his home.
After about an hour and a half of deliberation, the jury returned a not guilty verdict in the David Wilson case.
Wilson faces the death penalty if convicted of the murder of a Midland officer. Nathan Heidelberg.

When Wilson entered the house early in the morning on March 5, 2019, to sound the alarm, he misunderstood Heidelberg as a burglar and shot him in self-defense.
Found Not Guilty
Prosecutors told the jury that the officer testified outside the door of Wilson’s house. Still, Wilson hid in a closet, and the Texas Ranger and a policy intern at the scene told defense attorneys that it was understandable that he hadn’t heard the Heidelberg announcement.
Midland is a medium-sized city in the west. Texas is an hour’s drive from the New Mexico border.

Wilson’s defense team explained why they believed the 39-year-old should act in self-defense to protect his family.
On the state premises, they showed more than twenty photos and body camera recordings that told what happened during the night. Officer Heidelberg and trainer Victoria Allee responded to Willson’s house for an “alarm Swing door”.
The jury looked at Allee’s body camera footage, which they captured upon arrival at Wilson’s house and found his front door unsecured, as well as when Officer Heidelberg was shot after reporting to Midland Police: “Come on by the sound of mine Voice”.
