Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif introduced the “Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic” initiative on Tuesday that will bring significant improvements to the province’s healthcare system.
Under this plan, 150 health centers across Punjab will be upgraded into advanced clinics. These facilities will provide services on par with leading private hospitals, with modern technology and a fully digital system managing everything from patient registration to treatment.

At the launch event, Chief Minister Sharif handed out appointment letters to the doctors joining the project. Provincial Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir commended her efforts, calling her a “Super CM.” Sharif engaged with the doctors, sharing lighthearted moments and posing for photos.
In another step forward, MRI services have been introduced in district hospitals through a public-private partnership. Agreements have been signed to roll out MRI scanning in Sheikhupura and Bahawalnagar at a cost of Rs. 399.2 million. Sheikhupura’s District Headquarters Hospital has already installed an MRI machine, while preparations in Bahawalnagar are nearing completion.
