Aris Singleton, niece, and CFO, and head of human resources for Donaldson’s TGIN, posted a video on Donaldson’s personal Instagram page on Sunday, November 14, 2021 announcing her passing. Singleton opened the video by wishing Donaldson fans a good day and calling them “wonderful babies.”

Donaldson, founder of Thank God It’s Natural (TGIN), died Saturday, 13th November. The entrepreneur and beauty writer was a popular part of the natural hair community.

She was considered a pioneer in this field and was highly respected by her colleagues and competitors.

She wrote her second book; This is just a test: what breast cancer taught me in 2019 about faith, love, hair, and business. The text strongly advocated that entrepreneurs take care of themselves when building their organizations. Donaldson has also partnered with businesses to provide resources for those battling breast cancer.

Her death was confirmed in a video posted by her niece and TGIN’s finance and human resources manager, Aris Singleton, on his personal Instagram account.

Donaldson’s battle with breast cancer led her to create the TGIN Foundation to help women diagnosed with breast cancer who do not have health insurance.

“The mission of the TGIN Foundation is to support uninsured women receiving treatment for breast cancer, to underline the impact of health inequalities on the chances of survival of survivors and to underline the importance of early detection for women. women under 40,” the organization said on its website.

The site states that African-American women are more likely to die from breast cancer.

“In the city of Chicago, black women are 42% more likely to die from breast cancer than the general population,” the site says.

Before founding TGIN, Donaldson was an attorney representing Fortune 500 companies, according to her TGIN biography. She focused on technology and open-source code, and guided companies through complex transactions, the bio said.

“Prior to starting his own business, Chris Tia represented Fortune 500 companies in complex business transactions involving technology and open source code,” explains his bio. Chris-Tia gave him A.B. in Economics from Harvard University with Honors and a Harvard Law School graduate.

Her LinkedIn page indicates that she worked for Oracle Corporation as a Senior Business Advisor for over ten years. She began her legal career in 2003 as a partner at Sidley Austin, then worked as a partner at Jenner & Block, the site says.

She founded TGIN 15 years ago in 2006 and stepped down as senior lawyer in 2017, the site says.
