Bollywood Singer KK Passed Away At Age 53 in Kolkata
Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, commonly known as KK, one of the most popular playback singers in Bollywood, died in Kolkata on Tuesday night. KK reportedly felt unwell upon arriving at his hotel room after a performance at the Calcutta Auditorium, where he sang for nearly an hour.
The singer was taken to a private hospital in southern Kolkata, where doctors pronounced him dead. KK was 53 years old at the time of his death.
KK, who recorded his debut album in 1999, was known as a versatile singer, recording songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, and Bengali, among others. Rising in popularity in the early 2000s with a career as a playback singer, he recorded a variety of popular songs for Bollywood films.
The news comes just a day after famous Indian Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead on his way to his village of Mansa when unidentified gunmen fired bullets at his vehicle.
