Bobby Matheny and Tommy Gunn, 67, were killed by a camel that escaped from a Tennessee petting zoo, local authorities say.
Both from The Volunteer State died after being cornered and attacked by the wild camel in Obion, about 100 miles northeast of Memphis, on Thursday.

The hunchbacked beast was killed by the advancing police.
The Obion County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a free-roaming camel attacking people near the Shirley Farms petting zoo around 4:45 p.m., the department said in a statement.
They found both victims unconscious and the unbalanced creature loose when officers arrived. Several authorities were on site to provide assistance and to safely rescue the victims.
As deputies were getting one of the victims into an ambulance, the drug dealer reappeared and attacked the sheriff’s office vehicle. Officers were forced to “drop the camel for the safety of everyone at the scene,” the statement said.
Matheny and Gunn succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
How the camel was released is not known.

A relative of one of the victims told WTVF that the two men went to the farm to try to capture the camel. The relative said the animal cornered them, attacked them, and trampled the men to death.
A camel expert told the outlet that as adults, the animals “have enough strength to crush their arms and legs with their necks as they kick back and forth.”
“Most animals can only step backwards. The camels will do a combination of all of these things when they kneel down to crush you,” the expert said.
Shirley Farms told CBS News they were devastated and mourning the attack, but didn’t give any further details.
According to an online obituary, Matheny had worked as a janitor at Lake County High School. A funeral is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday in the school gym.
Autumn Staggs, who worked alongside Matheny as a janitor for five years, in a touching Facebook post with an accompanying video of Matheny fooling around while cleaning a school floor.
“We laughed a lot and had a lot of hard days at work until I decided to look for another job. He was always my go-to person when I needed a break and vice versa. Bob was one of a kind and I can’t believe I’m saying this but rest dude,” he wrote.
