The father of murdered University of Idaho student Madison Mogen is hopeful the person responsible for the murder of his daughter and three of her classmates will be apprehended.

Ben Mogen told the spokesman that although it has been six weeks since the gruesome quadruple homicide and Moscow, Idaho police, the FBI and state troops have yet to identify the suspects or provide solid leads, he remains hopeful of solving the case.

“I knew from the start that people don’t get away with murder these days,” the grieving father said of the brutal stabbing in the early hours of 13th November.

“There’s just too many things to catch up on, like DNA and videos everywhere,” he said, although no such clue appears to have been found so far.

“There’s nothing that people get away with that doesn’t get resolved,” he told the Idaho newspaper.

But Mogen claimed to wait so long for a breakthrough has been excruciatingly painful since her daughter, 21, was stabbed with her best friend Kaylee Goncalves, 21, her roommate Xana Kernodle, 20, and her boyfriend Ethan Chapin, 20.

“There were so many questions I thought I would find an answer to and we’re still waiting,” Mogen told the newspaper.

Mogen has great praise for the daily records he receives from authorities, unlike Goncalves’ father who has often criticized the police investigation and lack of updates.

Given that the investigation is being conducted from the small town of Moscow and is being backed by state and federal agencies, he remains a believer.

Mogen said of the detectives: “I just have to believe they know what they’re doing and if they don’t know, they know someone who does.”

Having information from official sources also helps you stay away from the uninformed guesses of online detectives.

“I can get all my news on this directly [from the researchers] and I don’t have to try to sift through all this misinformation,” he said.

“I simply have to take the higher path in these things, otherwise it is detrimental to my well-being; I mean, it’s hard enough as it is,” Mogen said.

“I’m just trying to get through these days one at a time.”

When Mogen found out about his daughter’s death, his mother and his daughter’s mother, Karen Laramie, tried to contact him at the same time while he was watching a movie.

“I’ve been thinking about all these horrible things that I was preparing for, and none of them prepared me for what they actually told me,” he said.

When he finally got his hands on Laramie, “we didn’t even know what to say to each other, we both cried,” he said of the call with his ex.
