He also revealed that Koci Selamaj, who was determined to earn money to help his family and therefore started working at the age of 13, was a ‘calm and good boy who wouldn’t kill a fly’ in her youth.
A mediocre student who started taking classes, Koci Selamaj worked in a bakery and as a carpenter after the family moved to Athens at the age of 12.
Chilling CCTV caught him trying out a rolling pin as a murder weapon before ‘hiding’ in the shadows of Cator Park in south-east London on the night of September 17 while waiting for a victim.

He then took aim at Ms Nessa as she passed and CCTV showed him stopping, turning and running after the 28-year-old before hitting her 34 times with a 2ft metal warning triangle that broke as she walked it attempted battle with the outside.
After passing out, Selamaj took Miss Nessa, stripped off her underwear and strangled her with her stockings.
He cowardly refused to face his family at the Old Bailey on Thursday and Friday while his father and sister looked on from the bleachers.
His attorney said he would never explain why he carried out the sickening attack and vowed to “keep silent forever”.
At his sentencing, Judge Sweeney said Selamaj “positively enjoyed what he was doing in the park.”
It set a minimum sentence of 36 years for a ‘feral’ sexual assault.
In absentia, the judge said to him: “Sabina Nessa was a completely innocent victim of an absolutely heinous murder, entirely the fault of the accused, which increased the insecurity of the people, especially women. who live in our cities when walking or traveling alone, especially at night.
“Sabina’s life was important, a life that didn’t deserve to be taken in such a vile and cowardly way.”
