Maulana Tariq Jamil’s Son, Asim Jamil, Passes Away in Tragic Incident
In a heartbreaking turn of events, Asim Jamil, the son of the well-known Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil, has tragically lost his life in Talamba, Punjab. Maulana Tariq Jamil confirmed this unfortunate incident through a social media platform, expressing the profound sadness that has enveloped their family.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammad Saleem in Mian Channu, Asim Jamil was rushed to the Talamba Rural Health Centre, where he was officially declared deceased. Currently, his body is being transported to the family’s residence from the health center.
The Circumstances Surrounding Asim Jamil’s Demise
Multan Regional Police Officer Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry reported that, based on CCTV footage, Asim Jamil tragically took his own life. This tragic incident occurred when he acquired a pistol from his security guard during a workout session and subsequently shot himself in the chest.
RPO Sohail also disclosed that Asim had been battling mental health issues for an extended period and had been under medication for his condition.
Asim had previously been married into the Niazi family of Khanewal. Reports suggest that Maulana Tariq Jamil had established Al-Hussain School in Tulamba, where Asim’s wife had served as the school’s principal. Notably, Asim had not completed his matriculation studies and had not received a religious education.
Additionally, it was revealed that Asim had divorced his wife two years ago, did not have any children, and had been grappling with ongoing mental health challenges. In response to these developments, the Punjab Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, took notice of the incident and requested a comprehensive report from the Multan RPO.
Reactions to Asim Jamil’s Tragic Demise
A statement from the police spokesperson conveyed that Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar has taken cognizance of the incident and has called for a comprehensive report from the Multan regional police officer.
He emphasized that a thorough examination of available evidence and forensic reports will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of death. The Khanewal district police officer, along with other senior personnel, were present at the scene and collected necessary evidence.
Leaders and politicians across Pakistan have expressed their condolences and solidarity with the grieving family. Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, expressed his profound condolences, while the caretaker Interior Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, expressed deep regret over the incident.
PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his condolences to the family, standing in solidarity with them during this tragic event.
