Dubai’s Arab Health Event Now World Health Expo Dubai After 50 Years

Dubai’s long-running Arab Health event, a fixture in the region’s medical scene since 1975, is changing its name. Now called World Health Expo Dubai (WHX Dubai), the move reflects the event’s expanded ambitions and Dubai’s push to lead global healthcare innovation.

What started as a small gathering of 40 exhibitors has ballooned into one of the planet’s largest healthcare meetups, drawing crowds of 60,000 yearly. At its 50th-anniversary celebration, Peter Hall of Informa Markets—the event’s organizer—shared the reasoning behind the rebrand: “WHX Dubai isn’t just a new name. It’s about building bridges between countries and pushing boundaries in healthcare. Dubai’s been central to our journey, and this shift shows where we’re headed next.”

The rebrand ties into Informa’s broader plan to connect its healthcare events worldwide, making it easier for experts to share ideas. UAE health authorities, including the Dubai Health Authority and Dubai Healthcare City Authority, have thrown their weight behind the change, signaling strong local backing for the sector’s growth.
