Apple Clocks Record Holiday Sales, But iPhone Demand Dips

Apple wrapped up 2024 with another blockbuster holiday season. Between October and December, the tech giant raked in $124.3 billion—a 436.3 billion. Strong sales in the Americas, Europe, Japan, and parts of Asia contributed to the milestone.

Mac and Services Shine, iPhone Slips

The Mac lineup pulled in $8.9 billion, while iPads added $8.0 billion to Apple’s coffers. But the real star was Apple’s services division—think Apple Music, TV+, and iCloud—which smashed records with $26.3 billion in earnings, per the company’s latest earnings report.

On the flip side, iPhone sales dipped slightly, sliding from $69.7 billion last quarter to $69.1 billion. China, a key market for Apple, saw revenues shrink by more than $2 billion, sparking questions about the company’s footing in the region.

Betting Big on AI for 2025

Looking ahead, Apple is banking on its AI-driven tools, branded as Apple Intelligence, to fuel growth. The company aims to expand these features to more languages and regions starting in April, hoping to attract more users and boost sales.

Even with slower iPhone sales, Apple says the number of active devices worldwide has never been higher. The company pointed to its expanding ecosystem—from iPhones to Macs—as proof that its user base continues to grow.
