Anu Malik could be Banned from Indian Idol after Neha Bhasin, the resumed attack of Sona Mohapatra
According to some media sources, the musical composer Anu Malik could be dismissed from his duties as a judge in the reality show Indian Idol, after new demonstrations against him. Malik was readmitted after being fired as a judge last year when several women accused him of sexual behavior during the #MeToo movement in India.
Deccan Chronicle quotes a source saying, “Anu Malik could open the door in the coming weeks. They thought the commotion against him had calmed down. They never anticipated this new growing protest against his return to the show.“

Several women, including accusers Shweta Pandit and Neha Bhasin, as well as singer Sona Mohapatra, criticized Sony TV’s decision to bring Malik back a year after his expulsion. Sona even summoned co-judges Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar for turning a blind eye to the case.
Shweta pandit was 15 when he misbehaved what does a child say. The shame u feel, the fear, the confusion. Please we need to stop questioning tje victim. Its time u question the criminals https://t.co/UX9KMafgYt

Dear Sachin, Are you aware of all the @IndiaMeToo stories of multiple women, some minors who came forward in the public domain about Anu Malik, the judge in this same Indian Idol show last year including their own ex producer? Does their trauma not matter or touch anyone? 🧚🏿♀️🔴 https://t.co/jE45Tth1po

Others, such as singers Sonu Nigam and Hema Sardesai, rose to defend Malik and questioned the integrity of the accusers. “Sonu Nigam has publicly defended the cause of Anu Malik and his right to earn millions on national television while claiming that he is his mother’s son, etc., to justify his understanding of @IndiaMeToo.” He called Ram Sampath to “keep me in control” by calling me “terrorist.” Be happy now, “Sona wrote.

At the same time, Shweta Pandit expressed disappointment at the handling of the situation by Sony TV and wrote on Twitter that this shows why women are reluctant to report acts of sexual misconduct.
Even in 2019, we are interviewed as victims, after being a professional singer in this industry for two decades, some narrow minds, why don’t we talk about it? Really losers? Can you imagine what would happen to me if I spoke in 2001 when I was a schoolboy? Thank God for #MeToo, “he wrote.
In a statement, Anu Malik’s lawyer denied all claims in a statement: “The charges against my client are categorically denied because they are completely false and unfounded.” My client respects the #metoo movement but using this movement to launch a character murder mission is odious.”
