Friday’s crime scene at a home in La Plata, Maryland, came after Sales killed his ex-girlfriend Sara Mann and her family before killing himself, authorities say.

Charles County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Saturday Andre Sales, 28, entered the home and shot and killed his ex-girlfriend Sara Mann, 21; his mother Sommaly Mann, 48; his younger brother Kai Mann, 18; and Javon Watson, 23, an unrelated man from White Plains.
According to a press release, detectives gathered evidence and interviewed the victims’ families and friends to determine the motive. The Baltimore Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will confirm the exact cause of death for each person.
Court documents say Sales was charged with domestic violence in April 2021, but the charges were dismissed when the petitioner failed to appear. A judge issued a six-month peace warrant against him on 2nd April last year and ordered him to have no contact with the petitioner.
Charles County Deputies and La Plata Police Department initially arrived at the single-family home on the 3000 block of Wildflower Drive around 4 p.m. on Friday following a report of a shooting.
They found five adults dead in the home.
NBC Washington reporter Mauricio Casillas told OMCP on Friday that neighbors were shocked at what happened as they “saw their neighborhood covered by criminal gangs while police lights continued to illuminate a very calm and quiet neighborhood.”
