Almost A Third Of The Higher Education Students in Dubai Are Foreigners
According to the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), Dubai’s international higher education institutions have experienced an 8% annual enrollment growth.
The data showed a 12 percent increase in the number of international students choosing Dubai for higher education, accounting for almost a third of all students.
A recent KHDA infographic revealed that more than 30,000 students are currently enrolled in university programs. The infographic also included detailed data on the emirate’s higher education, international higher education providers, students, faculty, programs, and research areas.
It also showed that more than 80% of the graduates of the last two years of study found a job or continued their studies.
In the last three academic years, international universities have expanded their programs by 21%, with careers in business, engineering, and information technology (IT) being the top choices among Emiratis and foreigners. Students with different skills, on the other hand, prefer economics, media studies, and computer science courses.
Recent figures also show that 60% of students are enrolled in undergraduate programs, 30% in graduate programs, and only 2% in doctoral programs. About 80% of all students are enrolled full-time.
According to Dr. Abdulla Al Karam, Managing Director of KHDA, Dubai is fast becoming a leading center for international higher education. He said the growing number of international campuses and multiple programs are attracting more students.
