Who is Aleksi Shyti of Albania? Biography, Wiki
Aleksi Shyti is a suspected illegal driver who was wanted by police for running over and killing a pedestrian 11 years ago. He was extradited from Bulgaria and taken to Britain to be charged with death.
Shyti is said to have fled the country after the fatal accident in Hertfordshire and escaped capture for 11 years while on the run.

“Ricky Burlton from Enfield, north London, was hit by a car on his way back from Hertford. Tragically, he suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Shyti is said to have left the country shortly thereafter.”
“The charges relate to a collision on an A10 ramp near Hoddesdon in the early hours of 4th June 2010.”
Aleksi Shyti Wanted By Police
Police said Aleksi Shyti was finally arrested in August this year while trying to enter Bulgaria. At border control, details of a European arrest warrant issued in his name emerged.
The arrested Aleksi Shyti wanted to question the death of Ricky Burlton, 20, who was killed on 4th June 2010 on an access road to the A10 in Hoddesdon, Herts.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said today: “A man was charged and taken into custody in a fatal collision in Hoddesdon over 11 years ago.”
Homeless Aleksi Shyti, 42, has been charged with causing death while driving without a license, holding a false ID, and providing false information to obtain an insurance policy.
“He was taken into custody by Hertfordshire Police on Monday before appearing at Hatfield Court of Inquiry yesterday / Tuesday. He has been returned to custody and is due to appear in St. Alban Crown Court on Monday 8 November.”

What Police Have Investigated Up Till Now?
Detective Inspector Iain Macpherson of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire (BCH) Major Crimes Unit said: “Ricky’s family had to wait eleven long years before anyone was charged with his death.”
“I can’t imagine how difficult it was for them and, as always, they stick in our minds as we work on this latest development.”
“Now we are waiting for the legal proceedings to continue.”
